Monthly Meetings at the Lawton Public Library

The Southwestern Oklahoma Historical Society meets on the second Tuesday of each month

Meet us at the Lawton Public Library in Lawton, Oklahoma. These meetings are open to members and guests who are interested in regional history, preservation, and community engagement.

Each meeting includes:


• Review of historical updates and society activities
• Treasurer’s report
• Old business and new business discussion
• Planning for upcoming events and community participation
• Opportunities for member input and collaboration


We encourage historians, educators, students, genealogists, and community members to attend and participate.

Mountain Metro AMBUCS 14th Annual Trykes N Treads Car Show

The Southwestern Oklahoma Historical Society will participate in the Mountain Metro AMBUCS 14th Annual Trykes N Treads Car Show, held:

April 11–12, 2026
Comanche County Fairgrounds
Lawton, Oklahoma


During this two-day event, SWOKHS will host a booth where visitors can:

• Learn about Southwest Oklahoma history
• Explore society programs and publications
• Ask questions about genealogy and preservation
• Become a member
• Discover Prairie Lore and archival resources


We invite the public to stop by, meet our board members, and learn more about preserving regional heritage.
